Hi to whoever may be reading this. My name is Henry, I am a 28 year old from the UK. Over the past 3 years of my life I have spent the majority the time working away from home. I soon realised that this was no fun as I didn’t have any time to indulge into any of my hobbies.

During that time, me and my partner went travelling across Europe in a self-converted campervan which put life into perspective a little bit. Upon our return to the UK, we were both running low on money and managed to find a job working on a strawberry farm for the summer. It was perfect for what we needed, we lived on the farm and carried out daily duties looking after the plants, pruning, picking, setting polytunnels up etc. Within this time we ended up buying a chilli plant from a local garden centre. The thought of having our own homegrown chilli’s to make sauces from sounded rather wholesome to the both of us. It wasn’t until we returned home and we gave the plant to my mother to put in the garden that the chilli’s really started growing. I couldn’t believe it, we looked after it for months and the second we gave it away, lots and lots of chillies just popped out the middle of no-where. I guess this is what sparked my interest in wanting to grow our own fruits and vegetables.

Fast forward a year and we have now moved into our own home, which has a pretty decent garden. So obviously I’m going to use this opportunity to see what I can achieve as a first time gardener, planting and growing my own fruits and vegetables from the comfort of our own home. If you’ve had the same ideas and are not sure where to start (just like me) then follow along for the journey and see how I get on. Hopefully I can give you some ideas of where to start and how to go about it so you can start your very own journey of growing fruits and vegetables in your own home as well! If you’ve got this far, thanks for reading.
